Gwen, the second daughter still lives in Drybrook.  She married Bert Hale, who when I first knew him was working at the last remaining pit Cannop.  When that closed, he set up "Hale & Yemm" who manufactured metal parts for industry.

 This picture (1961) shows Bert & Gwen with Harold, Margaret and Barbara on a visit to my parents (Len & Margaret) in Coventry.
They had four children, Janet, Barbara, Harold and Margaret.  Gwen has continued to look after grand and now great grand children.

Gwen (and Bert) made her mum very welcome in their house for many years as she became less able to look after herself.  I have Auntie Gwen to thank for the many happy memories and the warm welcome in the Forest.
