Howard Leslie MacDonald - known to me as Uncle Les, married Margaret Timpany, who's father was the pastor of the local chapel. (He had been living near Coventry previously and my mum met my dad when she went to stay with them in the Forest.) Les was a director of a local company. They moved to Newnham on Severn, where Margaret still lives. Margaret was a Justice of the Peace. Les was always a keen tenor and enjoyed taking part in Gilbert & Sullivan Operas as well as his worship in the Baptist Chapel on Ruardean Hill.		Les with Martin and Ann and Margaret Ian & Moira. Also in the picture are Sid Colgrave and my sister Anne with my parents and Edith Sleeman. This was a Christmas visit in 1961 to their house at Milkwall, Coleford.
Ann now lives near Peterborough, Moira is a broadcast journalist and a guest house proprietor in Alderney. Martin is a medical practitioner and Ian a non-conformist minister. Les & Margaret made me welcome in their home and it was great to have the company of cousins all about my own age.
